Also, New Years Day run, we look forward to meeting you at the Abbey Lodge before a leisurely drive to a mystery venue that is central for everyone’s homeward journey afterwards.

To break up the boredom between Christmas and New Year have a scroll through our planned events for 2026 and see if anything is of interest to you.

The events have been added to our calendar provisionally and since we set up the calendar we have already added the Classic Car show at Lincolnshire showground to the list of exciting events within our Centre.

All events will have entry forms etc added at a later date.

Drive it Day – Thorpe Camp

Sunday 21st was a dry, though cold, day the ideal opportunity to enjoy our cars. 3 runs converged on Thorpe Camp for a display, which covered 95 years of MGs, a chat and treasure hunt.

Drive it Day 2022

Sunday 24^th April was National Drive your Classic Car Day. The MGCC (Lincolnshire Centre) organised a visit to the Walled Garden, Baumber with drive ins from Boston, Caistor, Lincoln and Dyke so that participants could enjoy a drive through the Lincolnshire Countryside in glorious sunshine and then meet together for a lunch. Thirty eight cars were booked in with a variety from MGs including TC, TFs, MGA, ZB Magnette, MGBs, MGC, MGB V8s, MGFs and modern TFs. Among the non-MGs that joined us included a Ford Zephyr, a Mustang and a modern Honda. Also present at the venue were the Austin 7 club which had about 10 cars for us to enjoy.

Participants were invited to undertake a walking Treasure Hunt which was won by Lynn Wright and David Stearn. Then followed a Pride of Ownership competition where the results were as follows

4^th Robert Taylor MGA

5^th Bill Sharp MG TC

A very enjoyable day in the gardens and as a result of everyone’s participation the Car Club was able to donate a sizeable amount to the Walled Garden so that they could continue to provide such a wonderful attraction.

Join us at The Walled Garden, Baumber (near Horncastle) to celebrate National Drive your Classic Car Day on Sunday 24th April 2022. The Walled Garden is a fascinating garden full of quirky features, unusual plants and has a both a restaurant and coffee shop. The MG Car Club is arranging drive ins from Caistor, Dyke, Lincoln where you can join fellow classic car enthusiasts with a pleasant drive through the countryside or you can join us by driving to the walled garden. All classic car enthusiasts are welcome but please use the booking form so your place is secure

National Drive It Day was created by the Federation of British Historic Vehicle Clubs in 2005. It is the occasion when historic vehicle enthusiasts and the public at large have the opportunity to celebrate the One Thousand Mile Trial organised in 1900 to prove the viability of the new invention, the motor vehicle. It’s also a chance to raise awareness and support amongst the public for the historic vehicle movement and keeping transport heritage on UK roads.
