Pride of Ownership Evenings Return for Summer 2026

The Lincolnshire Centre of the MG Car Club is pleased to announce the return of our popular Pride of Ownership evenings for the 2026 summer season.

These relaxed and enjoyable gatherings provide members with the opportunity to showcase their MGs in friendly surroundings while enjoying good company at a selection of excellent local venues across Lincolnshire.

Unlike formal concours competitions, our Pride of Ownership events are judged by the venue’s landlord, adding a fun and informal touch to the proceedings. At each event, the winning cars will receive a commemorative rosette with rosettes awarded down to third place.

A small entry fee will be payable on the night for those wishing to enter.

This year’s venues and dates are:

The Wishing Well, Dyke near Bourne – 13th May
The Abbey Lodge, Woodhall Spa – 4th June
The Ferryboat, Washingborough, Lincoln – 23rd June

Whether you are entering your MG or simply coming along to admire the cars and enjoy the atmosphere, all members are encouraged to attend and support these enjoyable social evenings.

A reminder regarding the Annual Dinner & Presentation Evening which takes place on Saturday February 28th 2026, the menu selection form can be found within the pages of the Calendar tab…

Also, New Years Day run, we look forward to meeting you at the Abbey Lodge before a leisurely drive to a mystery venue that is central for everyone’s homeward journey afterwards.

To break up the boredom between Christmas and New Year have a scroll through our planned events for 2026 and see if anything is of interest to you.

The events have been added to our calendar provisionally and since we set up the calendar we have already added the Classic Car show at Lincolnshire showground to the list of exciting events within our Centre.

All events will have entry forms etc added at a later date.

Concours/Pride of Ownership

The format 0f this event is very simple, clean and polish your pride and joy, drive it to the event venue, clean and polish it again and sit back whilst extremely diligent judges assess your car against a good number of similar entries. Whilst the judges are doing their very best to evaluate your efforts you can enjoy a browse around many other vehicles that are displaying, or chat with friends and similar minded individuals.

One thing is for sure, however, if you don’t win you will have a great time and there is always next year. By the way, some of us don’t take this too seriously and we wash our car and thus when we attend we simply marvel at the efforts of those who practice this brilliant art.
