BBMF / Lincs Aviation Visit – 5th June 2026

Join the MG Car Club Lincolnshire Centre on Friday 5th June 2026 at 10am for a guided tour of the BBMF hangar at Coningsby, followed by lunch at the NAAFI at Lincolnshire Aviation Heritage Centre, East Kirkby.

This is an opportunity to enjoy two recently upgraded aviation venues.

The Battle of Britain Visitor Centre at Coningsby has recently been revamped with new exhibits, and the NAAFI at Lincolnshire Aviation Heritage Centre, East Kirkby, has also recently reopened.

Free parking is available at both Coningsby and East Kirkby. Museum entry charges apply.

The BBMF Visitor Centre is free to enter and has a café for anyone not wishing to take the hangar tour.

The tour costs £12 per person (non-refundable). To book, please contact Richard Withington at richard.j.withington@gmail.com for account details to make a BACS transfer.

The last date for tour tickets is 31st May 2026, subject to limited spaces.

Also, New Years Day run, we look forward to meeting you at the Abbey Lodge before a leisurely drive to a mystery venue that is central for everyone’s homeward journey afterwards.

To break up the boredom between Christmas and New Year have a scroll through our planned events for 2026 and see if anything is of interest to you.

The events have been added to our calendar provisionally and since we set up the calendar we have already added the Classic Car show at Lincolnshire showground to the list of exciting events within our Centre.

All events will have entry forms etc added at a later date.

Annual Lunch & Awards Presentation

We have traditionally presented our annual awards at a Dinner & Dance held in January or February but since the restrictions of Covid and the reluctance of members to attend the last Dinner & Dance held on 26th February 2022, we conducted a survey to find out what members wanted.
Only 28% of members preferred an evening dinner with dancing followed by the awards presentation, where as 43% of members opted for a less formal lunch time gathering.
The MGCC Lincolnshire Committee have therefore decided to change from tradition and the annual gathering to celebrate the 2022 Year of MGCC Lincolnshire and present the Annual Awards will be a Sunday Lunch event held in the Woodland Suite of the Petwood Hotel, Woodhall Spa.
This will be an opportunity for members to get together again after the restrictions of Covid have forced many MGCC Lincolnshire events to be postponed or cancelled.
We have the exclusive use of the Woodland Suite with reception bar; meeting at 12.30pm for lunch at 1.00pm. The 2 course lunch will be followed by a slide presentation of 2022 events and then the Annual Awards and Trophies for 2022 will be presented.

Concours/Pride of Ownership

The format 0f this event is very simple, clean and polish your pride and joy, drive it to the event venue, clean and polish it again and sit back whilst extremely diligent judges assess your car against a good number of similar entries. Whilst the judges are doing their very best to evaluate your efforts you can enjoy a browse around many other vehicles that are displaying, or chat with friends and similar minded individuals.

One thing is for sure, however, if you don’t win you will have a great time and there is always next year. By the way, some of us don’t take this too seriously and we wash our car and thus when we attend we simply marvel at the efforts of those who practice this brilliant art.

The Lincolnshire Centre Luncheon Club

Our Luncheon Club began with an idea by John and Sheila Laurence to get friends together at lunchtime once a month to simply enjoy each other’s company and share a great dining experience.
