Drive it Day -2024
Drive it Day 2024 is to be a Social Drive to Thorpe Camp Museum followed by a walking treasure hunt and a Pride of Ownership competition. The Museum will open at midday and the Cafe will be serving light refreshments from 1.00pm. Please feel free to bring your own picnic.
MGCC Lincolnshire have arranged free entry for members with MG or Classic cars and further details of Thorpe Camp can be found on their excellent website. thorpecamp.wixsite.com.
The social drives will start from Dyke, Caistor and Lincoln or you can choose to drive directly to the venue. Please complete the enclosed entry form and select your preferred option. Social Drive assembly points are as follows;-
Lincoln- Leader Malcolm Clark, start at the Plougman’s Barn at Manor Farm Shop, Moor Lane, Leasingham NG34 8JN. (what three words, wiggly,primary, scooters). Breakfast available from 9.30am leaving for Thorpe Camp 11.30am.
Caistor– Leader Keith and Eleanor Robinson, Meet at Caistor Lakes LN7 6RX at 10.00am.
Dyke– Leaders Ian and Sue Mackenzie, Meet at The Wishing Well PE10 0AF at 10.45am.
Thorpe Camp Visitor Centre is situated between Coningsby and Woodhall Spa, in the village of Tattershall Thorpe in Eastern Lincolnshire. It tells the story of RAF Woodhall Spa, the four squadrons which were stationed there and life in Lincolnshire in World War II, as well as WW1 flying corps and the cold war. It is a charity run by volunteers and donations would be welcomed.
