This year, our Annual Awards Presentation was moved from an evening event to a less formal lunch time event as a result of feedback we received from our membership survey.
We were expecting a better attendance than the 28 members who came to last years Dinner held in the aftermath of Covid restrictions. Unfortunately, we only managed to attract 34 members to the Annual Awards Presentation and Lunch held at The Petwood Hotel on 26th February.
Despite the poor turnout, the event was a great success with a two course lunch followed by a slide presentation looking back at 2022 MGCC events. Twenty three awards were presented to members for achievements and participating in MGCC Lincolnshire events during 2022.
Howard Quayle, Director of the MG Car Club Ltd was invited to present the Awards and Trophies and then addressed the members as The Director Appointed to oversee The Lincolnshire Centre.
Highlight of the event was the announcement that our long standing member Douglas Samuel had been awarded “The Marque of Friendship” by The MG Car Club. This is a very prestigious award which we believe has never been awarded to a Lincolnshire Centre member before. It is awarded by the MG Car Club in recognition of outstanding contributions to the Marque by a member of the club.
